Moana Tregaskis, the widow of Richard Tregaskis is my hanai mother. She speaks of him often. I wish I could have had the chance to know such a wonderful man. Over the years, Moana and I have preserved RT’s legacy. His papers are saved at the American Heritage Center at the University of Wyoming and are the most researched.

Some of his books are now digitized and available for purchase. Moana wants to update all his books with an introduction from her along with memorabilia to share more about their life together. I am helping her digitize and publish them. They include:
- Warrior King: Hawai’i’s Kamehameha the Great
- Stronger Than Fear
- Vietnam Diary
- X-15 Diary
- China Bomb: A Novel
- Last Plane to Shanghai
- Seven Leagues to Paradise
- Invasion Diary
- Building the Bases: Southeast Asia

There is also an unfinished manuscript RT with detailed notes about Mumtaz Mahal, the Lady of the Taj Mahal. It is a beautiful exciting love story. Moana and I are planning to finish and publish it. More information can be found on his website.
Maybe we’ll write about the love story between Moana and Rich. It was quite something—the kind of love that surpasses all odds.
